Spring's wet black day
Just say that - out loud if you can't hear your voice in your head. Isn't a beautiful sound? I know "wet" and "black" usually denote dreariness, but yesterday was the exact opposite of dreary. It was the perfect kind of wet; damp but not clammy. It was the perfect kind of day to walk to Dr. Miller's house with my Bible class for an indoor barbecue, and then walk back on the damp black road, watching the wet black trees with the bright spring leaves. The river was very wet too, and sort of shared a presence with the grass and the flowers and the air and the trees like it doesn't usually.
