Baseball and Wisteria
Yesterday was the opening of the new Clipper Stadium. My dad threw out one of the first baseballs. He and my mom got to watch the game from the Wheatstone Box with all the other VIPs. This is because my dad did a lot of the engineering work for the stadium. The state governor was there, and they shook his hand. We all get to go a game later this month. I even had a small part in it, since I worked for the company last summer (as I indeed plan to do again this summer). Hmmm. I'm probably one of the only people who's more interested in the number of seats and the arrangement of the parking lots than where the little white and red ball is.
This morning we went to see the play "Enchanted April." It was a really sweet story about two London housewives who notice an advertisement in the paper for a castle in Italy to be let for the month of April, for those who "appreciate wisteria and sunshine." To cover costs, the two end up taking two more companions along, a fussy proper old lady and a very modern girl (modern for the 20s, that is). The two meant to escape from their husbands for a month, but end up missing them and inviting them to come along, as San Salvatore works its enchantment on them all. It's quite a comedy, and has a very nice ending.

Barnstormers. Seriously, that is a crappy name. This is why nothing should be named by (a) contest and (b) committee at the same time.
I've heard that's a really good movie. I want to see it.... Add one more to the list! = D
